SpongeBoost’s first comic book, created to make our mission more understandable and fun for everyone, is coming to life. Through our own superhero, we aim to engage and inform about the importance of sponge landscapes, mixing creativity with science.

We are happy to invite you to our event “Sponge.Power.Climate. – Communicating Sponge Landscapes Innovatively as Nature-Based Solutions” and start a dialogue about the effective communication of climate-related challenges and explore innovative communication strategies from both a professional and creative standpoint. The event is part of the dialogue platform Nature.Power.Climate.

Join us on 13 March 2025, at the Federal Office of Deutsche Umwelthilfe in Berlin.

The event program includes:

13:00 Welcome by Sabrina Schulz, Deputy Head of Nature Conservation and Biodiversity, Environmental Action Germany

13:10 Keynote on “Innovative Science Communication” by Maria Mincheva, Expert for Science Communication, Pensoft Publishers

13:30 Spongeboost – A presentation of a comic about sponge landscapes, by Carina Darmstadt, Consultant for Sponge Landscapes, Environmental Action Germany

14:00 Break

14:30 Storytelling – Developing your own climate crisis stories with Carina Darmstadt

16:00 Closing and conclusion, moderated by Leonie Pilgram, Natural Climate Protection Officer, Environmental Action Germany
