SpongeBoost as part of the EU CAP Network Conference on water resilience

On 18-21 May, SpongeBoost took part in the EU CAP Network Conference titled “Water resilience in agriculture: innovation in practice”, organised by the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) Network in Hamburg, Germany. SpongeBoost partner Claire McCamphill from Wetlands International Europe contributed to the thematic parallel workshop session on nature-based solutions led by researcher Maike Gebker and farmer Sonja Retzlaff. She provided suggestions on integrating NbS into agriculture, taking into account CAP plans, advisory services, and innovation networks.

The EU CAP Conference aimed to showcase innovative solutions that can strengthen water resilience in EU agriculture and forestry. It consisted of field visits, interactive workshops, and plenary sessions on the six thematic areas, and brought together researchers, farmers, agricultural advisors, project representatives, and educational professionals, amongst others. All participants had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and ideas, as well as share results from innovative projects and other initiatives.
