SpongeBoost materials were disseminated at Pensoft Publishers’ and the OBSGESSION project’s booth at the GfÖ Annual Meeting 2026. The event was organised jointly by the Nordic Society Oikos (NSO) and the Ecological Society of Germany, Austria and Switzerland (GfÖ) and held in Odense, Denmark, from 13–17 September.

The meeting brought together around 1,000 ecologists under the theme “Integrating the Diversity of Ecology”, providing a space to exchange knowledge and discuss current developments across the field.

SpongeBoost’s joint policy brief with SpongeWorks and SpongeScapes was showcased at the event, which provided an opportunity to present the project and its work on restoring natural water-retention functions to a broad ecology community.
