The SpongeBoost project consortium invites restoration projects to apply for the "SpongeBooster of the Year 2025" award, celebrating outstanding contributions to sponge landscape restoration. The winning project will receive the award during a spring field trip to their project area, bringing recognition and visibility to their work.

Applications are open until November 30, 2024, with winners announced in early 2025. Representatives from the project consortium will serve as the jury for the SpongeBoost Award. 

The award seeks to honour sponge landscape restoration initiatives, carried out by either organisations or individuals. Projects must have been implemented within the last five years (January 2019 - December 2024) in eligible regions, including EU countries, Switzerland, the UK, Norway, and the Balkan countries. Restoration and rewetting projects must have been primarily carried out in outdoor areas.

Applicants must submit:

• A project overview detailing the objectives, organisation, project area, and tasks.
• A completed online application form.
• An aerial photo or site plan with measures marked.
• Photos of implemented measures, sent separately via email to Carina Darmstadt at darmstadt@duh.de.
